Steam Production and Supply
Utility services for industrial operations
At the core of the system is a large-scale chemical water treatment plant, where raw water is processed through sand filtration, reverse osmosis, ion-exchange softening and related support technologies. The treated water is then distributed for industrial use and as feedwater for steam production in the boiler house. Reliable operation is supported by reservoir capacity, long-distance pipeline routes and interconnected pipe bridges across the site.
Site Structure
- Chomutov I – treatment plant, boiler house, water reservoir, main distribution
- Údlice – pumping station and raw water source
- Lažany – pumping station connected to the main system
- Integrated land and buildings forming one operational unit
This layout enables direct connection to industrial consumers without the need for external transfer of media between sites, supporting efficient operation and reliable supply.
Industrial Water Intake and Transport
Industrial water is supplied from pumping stations in Lažany and Údlice, together with connection points linked to the Ohře supply system. From there, the water is transported to the treatment plant in Chomutov for further processing and distribution.
- Lažany → treatment plant: ~8 Km
- Údlice → treatment plant: ~2 Km
- Annual industrial water volume over 170,000 m³
Drinking Water Supply
Drinking water is purchased from the public network and distributed across the industrial area through internal infrastructure. Supply stability is secured by a dual-chamber reservoir, which balances demand fluctuations and enables reliable gravity-based distribution.
- Reservoir volumes: 600 m³ + 800 m³
- Annual delivered volume over 70,000 m³
Steam Production and Supply
Demineralized water from the treatment system is used as feedwater for steam generation in the boiler house. Steam is produced by two three-pass VIESSMANN Vitomax 200-HS boilers and distributed to industrial users via an above-ground steam line. The system is designed for stable and continuous industrial operation.
- Boilers: 2× VIESSMANN Vitomax 200-HS
- Total thermal output: 8 MWt
- Above-ground steam pipeline: ~280 m
Filtered, Demineralized and Ultra-Pure Water
The chemical water treatment plant prepares water for industrial technologies and boiler feed applications. The treatment process includes sand filtration, chemical dosing, reverse osmosis, ion-exchange softening, heating of treated water, and storage in dedicated feed and cooling tanks. This allows the production of filtered and demineralized water for connected industrial operations.
- Treatment plant capacity: >1.5 million m³/year
- Reverse osmosis capacity: 20 m³/h
- Ion-exchange softening: 40 m³/h
- Storage system: 3 feed tanks + 1 cooling tank, 80 m³ each
